APORS (Association of Asia-Pacific Operational Research Societies) is a regional grouping within the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS). The aim of APORS is to promote operational research as a highly-valued discipline and a well-respected profession within the Asia-Pacific region. APORS promotes exchanges and collaborations between OR societies within Asia-Pacific region and other OR societies within IFORS.

The Operational Research Society of Hong Kong (ORSHK) has been established since 1980. ORSHK aim to promote mutual interaction and cooperation among researchers, practitioners, and professional organizations, related to Operational Research and Management Science discipline, in Hong Kong. More information about ORSHK is available at https://orshongkong.wixsite.com/home.

At the APORS meeting in November 2024 in Hangzhou, it is proposed that an APORS Youth Forum be held in 2025, to enable young researchers from across the APORS region to interact with their peers and more established OR scientists, and for them to have an opportunity to present their on-going work to a broad audience. The Operational Research Society of Hong Kong (ORSHK) undertook to organize this APORS Youth Forum (APORS-YF) in Hong Kong. Young OR researchers (e.g., post-doctoral fellows and PhD students) are cordially invited to present their on-going or recently completed research in the Forum.
